Realities Magazine is an original concept that I developed for LeTourneau University in 2005. Traditionally, the university had spent a large amount of money printing an annual viewbook, a marketing brochure that was incredibly expensive and far too wordy to hold the attention of teenagers. I proposed that the university allow me to shift to a semi-annual magazine format to capitalize on cost savings associated with less expensive paper and higher quantity printing. Because we shifted from one brochure printed every 2 years to a magazine printed twice a year, this allowed me to focus on content that was much more specific. I completed the 12th and final issue of the magazine in the Spring of 2012. The last 8 are provided below. This publication has won numerous national awards.
LeTourneau University NOW Magazine
LeTourneau University's NOW Magazine is the university's quarterly alumni magazine. The NOW magazine is the primary constituency piece for the university in all of its fundraising efforts as well as simply working to get all the great university stories into the hands of friends and supporters of the university. The magazine has been honored numerous times with national and international awards for both design and writing.
LeTourneau NOW Magazine Redesign, Spring 2016
In the Spring of 2016, I was commissioned to redesign and rethink LETU's alumni magazine. After many years of use of the same design template, a refresh was necessary. This included moving to a perfect-bound magazine and a step up in the look/feel of the publication.
